Visiting from out of there area and they made us feel like locals. Amazing staff great food at a great price. Lots of laughs with husband and wife running the place. I would give this place a 10 out of 10. Also watching them engage with all the customers was how a cafe like this should be run!! Do yourself a favor and eat there!
This place really hit the spot! The food was delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion sizes. What really stood out, though, was how kid-friendly they are. They had a high chair readily available, and the little toy they brought over kept my child happily entertained, which made for a much more relaxed meal for me. It's always a relief to find a place that caters so well to families.
My family and I randomly found this place and decided to give it a try and I damn near cried at the first bite. The service was amazing and the inside was decorated with Easter.... My brain chemistry permanently changed after eating here I don’t think anything will ever top the food we had here today 3
My wife went to Lydia's Cafe for breakfast after our get away weekend and it was delicious! Small place so you get the home-cooked meal and our breakfast was great. I had the Loco Moco special with breakfast rice, ham, bacon, red peppers and onions topped with sausage gravy and over medium eggs. My wife had the Rockford omelet and it was cooked perfectly! We are definitely going back the next time we are in the area!!
If your looking for some good breakfast or lunch, this is the spot to go! Stoped here with my partner for some breakfast and not only was good fresh and hot and absolutely delicious, what really made it extra special was the waitress we had, she even put a candle in my partners sandwich for her birthday it was the nicest thing ever! The chocolate chip pancake was massively big and also delicious. The American fries were definitely awesome!
While visiting relatives in Rockford, upon a recommendation from my Daughter, I stopped into Lydia's for breakfast. I chose the Rockford Omelet with Swiss Cheese, Hash Browns and a side order of Homemade Corned Beef Hash. Topped it all off with a cup of hot Green Tea. Everything was absolutely delicious and prepared perfectly. My lovely server was Melissa. She was very polite, professional and just a Sweetheart. Great music playing in the background. I will definitely dine here again, before leaving town..... 10/30/2023 Came back to Lydia's Cafe for a second time, after such a great breakfast a couple days ago... We've never been here! What an awesome breakfast! I had a Benedict and not only was the poached egg was ideal but the hollandaise was perfection. All four meals were fantastic. The vibe is eclectic and creative. I highly recommend it! We will be back.
Breakfast was great. Unique combination of flavors that spiced up breakfast, if I remember something like a pulled pork or brisket and egg skillet? . Looking forward to trying lunch menu
